16 kids tonight out at West Mountain including a few new faces! Some really good ball going on tonight...kids were working hard and going through some varsity level drills. Even a little Flex being run! Not bad for a Monday night in the fall. Coach Z

Small group out at the park tonight but they worked hard! Coach Alonzo did a great job helping out. Tonight capped off a week where we had over 40 girls participate from 2nd - 8th grade. I can feel the excitement around Simsbury girls basketball and can't wait to see what is ahead. Travel tryouts begin next week in Simsbury. Best of luck to all that are looking to make a team. Remember to keep a positive attitude and show your coaches what you do best! - Coach Z 
Another awesome night out at West Mountain Park! Allie Davis did a great job working with some our younger players and the turnout was great again with 17 players. It is exciting to see a couple of new faces each time around...pretty soon we are going to need a bigger location! Hoops season starts two months from today! What are you doing to improve your game? Are you ready to show your coaches what it is that you do better than anyone else? Make sure you find out what that thing is and you make it known at tryouts! Another great turnout tonight with 17 players at West Mountain Park. We even had a member of the 2024 graduating class out there tonight! I have put a few drills up on the website under the 'off season' tab...the best way to improve is to practice on your own! Coach Z 
A great night all th way around in Simsbury tonight! We had 15 kids out at West Mountain Park from grades 5-8, got to catch the last few games of Simsbury's big volleyball win over Southington, and my wife and I put an offer in to buy a house in Simsbury! Excited to get back at it tomorrow! Welcome to the Simsbury Girls Basketball blog! I will be blogging all things Simsbury basketball on a frequent basis. Today I write about the state of affairs for the Simsbury Girls Basketball program. I am a week into being the head coach and I could not be more excited about what I am seeing. Our numbers are a little low at the high school level but we have some very dedicated players that will serve as great leaders. We also have some amazing people in our youth program that will be an integral part in helping to develop our program. I spend a few nights last week out at West Mountain Park working with some youth players and was very impressed by the excitement and work ethic of the players that were able to make it. I look forward to having some conversations this week about our 'starter' programs for our elementary school students. I a few ideas about things we can do at that level but appreciate any ideas that you have! Let me know what recommendations that you have to help build up our elementary school bball program |
