Sam Zullo - Varsity Coach
The 2023-2024 season will be Coach Zullo's 11th season with the Trojans. The team is coming off a CCC Championship season and back to back 20+ win seasons.
In his first ten seasons at Simsbury Coach Zullo's teams have compiled a record of 153 - 69. The Trojans have qualified for the state tournament in each of the ten seasons, have advanced to the semifinals once, quarterfinals once and the second round three times. The team has also qualified for the CCC conference tournament 8 times after failing to do so for more than a decade. Coach Zullo has coached eleven all-conference players and five all-state players during his tenure:

Coach Zullo came to Simsbury after one season as the Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at Coventry High School. In his year at Coventry, the Patriots went 16-7, advanced to the semi-finals of the NCCC conference tournament, and earned the 6th seed in the Connecticut Class 'S' State Tournament. Other coaching experience includes coaching in upstate New York under NYS Hall of Fame basketball coach Jim Zullo for several seasons as an assistant, leading the Suffield Freshmen Boys team to a 15-1 record and the Simsbury Junior Varsity Boys team to a 16-4 record. Coach Zullo has also been involved in coaching the Simsbury Spartans girls AAU basketball program.
As a player, Coach Zullo won two sectional championships in five varsity seasons between Indian Lake and Broadalbin-Perth, NY. He still holds the Broadalbin-Perth school scoring record with 1,674 points. Coach Zullo continued on to play and graduate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY where he was a member of the Liberty League All-Academic team and earned 'All-Tournament Team' honors at the 2007 NYU tip-off tournament.
In his spare time Coach Zullo enjoys spending time with his wife Caylene, his son Jordan (5), daughter Blakely (3) and son Drew (1).

Jim Zullo - Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Jim Zullo is entering the 2023-2024 season in his 11th year as a volunteer assistant coach with the Trojans.
We could not be more fortunate to have Coach Jim Zullo volunteer his time at Simsbury. He coached for over 30 years in New York State and is a member of the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame, the Capital District Basketball Hall of Fame and the Shenendehowa High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Over his career, Coach Zullo amassed more than 500 career victories, over a dozen sectional championships and won a large school state title.
In his spare time Coach Zullo enjoys spending time with his wife Linda, and is an avid fly-fisherman and fishing guide in upstate New York.

Vinnie Cianfarani - Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Cianfarani has over 20 years of head varsity coaching experience, coaching at both Tolland and Windsor, including a state championship with Windsor. Coach's experience across multiple schools and sports helps us prepare for any situation that comes our way. He has been and will continue to be a great addition to our program.

Kim Day - Junior Varsity Coach
Coach Day enters her fifth season with the Trojans for the 2023-2024 season. She played for Simsbury High and graduated in 2015. Coach Day went on to manage the Quinnipiac Women's team during her college years. During the 2020-2021 campaign, she lead the JV team to an undefeated season.
