Mission
The Simsbury Spartans Girls AAU Program was started in 2012 with a goal of providing the AAU basketball experience at a localized level and reasonable cost. The program first looks to create teams with Simsbury residents and will offer positions to other area towns if there is room.
History
2012 - 8th Grade Only (10 girls in the program)
2013 - 9th Grade Only (10 girls in the program)
2014 - 10th Grade, 5/6 Grade (22 girls in the program)
2015 - 11th Grade (varsity), 8/9 Grade, 6/7 Grade (30 girls in the program)
2016 - 7/8/9 Grade, 6/7 Grade, 5 Grade (39 girls in the program)
2017 - 5/6 Grade, 6/7 Grade, 8/9 Grade (28 girls in the program)
2018 - 9/10 Grade, 7/8 Grade (20 girls in the program)
2019 - 7th Grade, 8th Grade (20 girls in the program)
2020 - No AAU (COVID)
2021 - Varsity program only
2022 - We are planning to offer teams from 4th - 12th grade in the spring of 2022.
