How to work Basketball concessions….

- For each game two parents are assigned to work, one will pick up the pizza, one will set up concessions, and both will work the concession table. One parent will pick up the pizza at the "Pizza Pickup" time above; the other will go to the school 10-15 minutes before game time to set up the concessions table. Please call/email/text your working partner ahead of time to confirm who will pick up the pizza and who is going to set up at the school!
- Pizzas will be ordered ahead of time - just say you're picking up for Simsbury Girl's basketball; 3-4 pizzas for JV/ additional games, 5-6 for varsity and we'll adjust as needed throughout the season. SHS is hosting two tournaments on the 16/17 and 28/30 of December. We will be selling concessions during games when other schools are playing, between the SHS JV & Varsity games; see schedule above. Pizzas will be ready before each game so they're fresh and warm(ish) for each game. You'll only pick up pizza for the game you're working, and we'll have 2-3 pizza pickups for each game night. Please note the correct location for your pizza pickup on the schedule above! Both Little City and Iron Horse are supporting the program this year!
- Working the table
- Please use gloves to serve pizza. It works well to have one person serve the pizza and the other handle the cash if possible.
- Pretty easy - sell stuff, make change, get rid of empty pizza boxes, etc. Please do not leave cash box or table unattended.
- Let me know if we're running out of pizza quickly or have too much so we can adjust our orders throughout the season.
- Table (s) will be set up for you in the hall before the JV game.
- Set up coolers for water/gatorade, paper plates, napkins, gloves (for serving pizza) candy, chips, price signs etc. I'll either bring all of this to each game or tell you where it's stored in the school.
- We should be able to get ice for coolers from the trainers room.
- Sam will bring the cash box to you before the start of the JV game. Write down how much cash is in the box at the start and end of your game in the notebook in the box.
- Empty any ice from coolers, pack up leftover water/gatorade in coolers. Pack up candy, chips, napkins, paper plates, gloves. I'll either take everything home or we'll store in the school for the next game.
- After most/all fans have left, you can give any leftover pizza to the team, sibings or whoever wants cold pizza!
- Clean up any garbage & wipe off tables
- Count and write down final amount in cash box and return to me - I'll make sure Sam gets the cash box.
